The City of Gladstone is working to sustain long-term economic health in the community through the development of a new downtown. The goal is to promote development and re-development that offers new housing options, expanded shopping and new dining opportunities for our citizens and neighbors. The City has recently released two new opportunities to work with local and regional partners in creating this thriving, vibrant downtown.
Gladstone 18, located at 504 NE 70th Street, derives its name from its past. Once the Gladstone post office, with a ZIP code of 64118, and a telephone exchange building, the building is now being redeveloped into a venue for restaurants and specialty food services such as coffee shops, bakeries, a deli or a sit down restaurant. The building is 5,600 square feet and the City is offering entrepreneurs and successful business owners the opportunity to become a part of the new downtown area though a new leasing program With the development of The Heights at Linden Square, $28 million luxury apartment project, there is an opportunity to lease up to 10,000 square feet of new commercial development.
