Mayor Carol Suter
Mayor Suter has resided in Gladstone since 1993. She is engaged with her husband in a real estate investment business, and was previously engaged in legal and management consulting practices. Originally appointed to the Council in 2007, Suter was elected to her first full term of office in 2008. She served as Mayor in 2012. Suter serves as Council Liaison to the TIF Commission, Gladstone Economic Betterment Council, and Environmental Management Advisory Committee. She also represents Gladstone with Gladstone Area Chamber of Commerce, Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce (Planning and Development Comm.), Clay Co. EDC (Legislative Affairs Comm.), MARC 1st Suburbs Coalition, MARC Communities for All Ages Advisory Board. Previously Suter served on the Planning Commission and is a graduate of the Gladstone Future Leaders Academy and of the Centurions Leadership Program of the Greater KC Chamber of Commerce. She is a member of the Central Exchange and the Greater KC Women’s Political Caucus.
