• The survey was drafted by Shockey. The strengths and weaknesses questions are ones Shockey developed and have used on previous surveys, which were edited to fit Gladstone's context. Shockey's draft was reviewed by the city and posted on the City's website.

• The City of Gladstone, Missouri continues to face a changing future driven by fast-paced demographic, economic, social, and industry trends. There is a need for a community-based planning process to develop an interactive Comprehensive Plan that conveys the community's vision for development and redevelopment for the next 20-25 years. The ramifications of the COVID-19 pandemic drive the need for a shorter-term Strategic Plan to best position Gladstone out of crisis and through the next several years with long-term resiliency in mind. Therefore, the project is two plans that will be aligned:
1. Strategic Plan (3-year)
2. Comprehensive Plan (20-year)
• Shockey will use strategic foresight so that both plans are adaptable for future changes in retail, commercial development, housing demand, population trends, public health, and innovative technologies.

• The City of Gladstone, Missouri is developing a Comprehensive Plan that will serve as a guide for future land use and the basis for planning & zoning regulations, various policies, and community initiatives to be implemented by the City. The Comprehensive Plan will provide an overview of the community's vision, goals, objectives, and policies to achieve its planned future.

• You can submit your feedback by participating in a variety of online tools, including surveys, quick polls, and discussion forums.

• Traditionally, the City of Gladstone, Missouri has engaged the community in face-to-face activities such as workshops, meetings, and open houses. Due to COVID-19 and social distancing measures, opportunities for in-person engagement are limited. Online engagement gives Gladstone residents the opportunity to provide input at your own pace. This platform provides a quick, safe, and convenient way to share your thoughts and ideas on various topics that impact our community.

• Your ideas and feedback will help shape the community's vision, goals, objectives, and policies for future resiliency in Gladstone. Our team will gather and analyze all feedback and develop reports for City staff and elected and appointed officials to consider during the development of the Comprehensive Plan.
