Pleasant Valley Road Project
Gladstone and Kansas City, MO have started construction on Pleasant Valley Road from N. Indiana Avenue in Gladstone to N. Brighton Avenue in Kansas City. The project includes the realignment of the existing roadway, construction of a single-lane roundabout at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and N. Antioch Road, LED street lights, and bicycle and pedestrian amenities including sidewalks and trails. The joint $5.4-million project is expected to take approximately 2-years to complete. $3.8-million of the total construction cost is funded by the Federal Surface Transportation Program. This exciting project has been in the works since 2004 and is a great example of two communities working together.
