Farmers Market Season Cancelled
The City of Gladstone regrets to share that the farmers market at the Atkins-Johnson Farm and Museum will not open for the 2025 season. The market's organizing team made this decision after facing several challenges, including the loss of a key vendor and limited early-season produce.

Water Tower Painting Project
Gladstone has begun the process of restoring and repainting both the Antioch Water Tower and the Linden Water Tower. Both water towers will be prepped before painting begins, including two temporary poles being constructed at Antioch for the short-term relocation of cell antennas. Other various upgrades will be made to the water towers with this project, as well. The improvements are anticipated to be completed by the end of summer.

Missouri Route 1 Corridor Updates
The Missouri Department of Transportation is planning a full-depth reconstruction of N Prospect Avenue from NE 72nd Street to NE 64th Street as part of their Missouri Route 1 Corridor Upgrades. Reconstruction includes pavement rebuilding, a new storm sewer, culvert restorations, and an extension of Happy Rock Trail. The project also involves resurfacing the roadway from Route 152 to NE 72nd Street.

IRIS: On-Demand Transit Service in Gladstone
The City of Gladstone has entered into a trial program with IRIS, an app-based, on-demand transit service provided by Kansas City, MO., in partnership with the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority, zTrip and RideCo. As of September 1st, bus service in Gladstone has been discontinued.
