Gladstone Police
Ride-Along Program The ride along program provides citizens with the opportunity to observe and participate in designated patrol activities within the Gladstone Department of Public Safety. Community members are welcome to complete an application. The focus of the program is to offer the citizens a direct connection to the police and fire departments. It enables them the chance to witness firsthand the day to day operations of the department. Participants are placed with a field officer and are encouraged to solicit information about the field of policing. Prospective applicants must be eighteen (18) years old or older, in good community standing and have valid identification. All applicants are required to complete a ride-along form, agree to the liability waiver, understand the confidentiality form and undergo a background investigation. Once the forms have been completed, the applicant will be contacted by a member of the Police Training Academy for scheduling. Requests for specific times, divisions or officers will be considered, but cannot be guaranteed. You can print a copy of the Department of Public Safety’s Ride-Along Form by clicking here.
