General Information
Private vs. Semi-Private Lessons:
Private lessons entail one-on-one instruction between a participant and instructor while Semi-Private lessons entail a maximum of two participants receiving instruction from one instructor in the pool at the same time. Semi-private lessons are great for participants who have very similar swimming skills and are looking to improve upon the same things. Those who benefit the most from Semi-Private lessons include: child siblings who are close in age and skill level, adults who have family members or friends who want to receive similar instruction, and adults who are willing to be paired with other adults from our waiting list that are of similar skill level.
Lesson Pricing:
Private and Semi-Private lessons are sold in sessions of (4) 30-minute lessons.
Members of the Gladstone Community Center receive a discount on Private and Semi-Private swim lessons!

Age Requirements:
Participant must be a minimum of 4-years-old to participate in the program. All ages are welcome above the age of 4. Private lessons are a great opportunity for adults wanting to learn to swim or refine their swim strokes.
Availability:
Private/Semi-Private lessons are first come, first serve based on instructor availability. If no instructors are available at the time of registration, participants will be automatically put on a waiting list and contacted as soon as an instructor becomes available. Participants will be contacted from the waiting list in the order they were registered.
Registration:
Before private or semi-private lessons can be scheduled, the PARTICIPANT INFORMATION FORM must be completed and submitted online by clicking the link at the top of this page. Once your information has been submitted it will be reviewed by an aquatics supervisor. After review an instructor will be assigned to contact you and begin scheduling lessons. If all instructors are unavailable at time of submitting form, the participant will be automatically placed on a waiting list and contacted once an instructor is available.
Scheduling Lessons:
Our program features flexible scheduling based on three factors: Gladstone Community Center pool availability, participant preferences/availability, and instructor availability. You will have the opportunity to find a time that best suits your needs instead of being assigned a set day and time to take lessons! Scheduling occurs after registration once an instructor is available and assigned to you. If for any reason you are unable to schedule lessons due to conflicting availability with one instructor, you can be transferred to another that can accommodate your scheduling needs!
Late Arrivals and Cancellation Policy:
If an Instructor shows up and finds no patron on site, and the instructor is unable to make contact with the patron, the lesson is forfeited. If an instructor was already on site and no patron shows up, a notification is given addressing scheduling. Late arrivals will reduce swim lesson time for that day. Instructors attempt to schedule lessons back to back for efficiency. They cannot afford to run other lessons behind due to tardiness. Patrons must give at least 24 hours’ notice for rescheduling or the lesson will be forfeited, due to the scheduling issues with other clients and availability.
